NanoChem has developed an innovative zeolite material which preferentially exchanges ammonium ions from filtered wastewater solutions. During the loading cycle, ammonium ions are adsorbed onto the ion exchange material and an equivalent quantity of sodium ions are released from the ion exchange material. Once the NanoChem Zeolite is fully loaded with ammonium ions it can be simply regenerated with concentrated sodium hydroxide solution. A concentrated ammonium solution is recovered which may be suitable for downstream application. |
